Tara and Luke…an Early Spring Wedding

Recently another member of our design team tied the knot. Tara; our ever so bubbly and super chatty compadre was married under her favourite tree. It was a chilly May day, but the rain held off, the sun shone through and Tara and Luke exchanged their vows at Tara’s childhood home. Tara envisioned a spring outdoor wedding complete with spring branches and blooms that incorporated her favourite flower; blue vanda orchids. Congrats Tara and Luke…we love you!. A special thank you to all of our vendors for helping make this a truly memorable day!

Dans La Salle de Bain Part Deux- by In Carnations Design

Here is the second installment of our Muskoka Cottage reno featuring the bathrooms. We had to deal with existing roughed in walls ( that we couldn’t move), floor plans ( that we couldn’t change),  doors ( that we couldn’t relocate), interior log walls in rough shape and of course the wish list of our clients. With a little patience and some ingenuity everything has a way of sorting itself out! Be Inspired!

Dans la Salle de Bain- The Master Bath by In Carnations Design

Bathrooms can be ( next to kitchens) one of the most challenging renovations for any homeowner or seasoned professional. The original interior of our recent Muskoka Cottage reno had only two. Our clients wanted four. And that’s what we gave them!  For the master ensuite  they had a large want list……a steam shower, a tub big enough for two  and double sinks. We had to deal with knee walls and the homes fireplace. Below you will see the finished room…..complete with everything on our clients want list! Enjoy….be inspired!

A Muskoka Kitchen

posted in: Interior Design | 0

We’ve been sitting on this one for a while….waiting for the right time to post! We love to renovate in the Spring; a fresh coat of paint, new textiles, accessories…or a full out teardown redo. Spring is about new life…what can be better than breathing some new life into a tired interior? Below you will see pictures of a kitchen we designed for a client in Muskoka. This was a full out rip back to the logs reno; the whole cottage was gutted! Hopefully you will be inspired! Stay tuned for more reno pics of the entire cottage! Enjoy!
P.S. Want to know what we used? Just ask and we will be happy to answer all your questions!

A Rainy Day Wedding at Lumina Resort

posted in: Wedding | 0

On a rainy day this past September we travelled to the beautiful Lumina Resort and met with the most beautiful bride we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The day was dull and damp but the smile that was present on this young woman’s face lit up the day more than any amount of sunshine could possibly hope to achieve.  I really am at a loss to say anything more……her, her groom, wedding party, family, friends and her new Mother-in-law made that much of an impression on myself and my daughter. Stunningly beautiful people: inside and out. Congratulations Taralyn  and Mark……and “thank you” . Your day will forever warm our hearts!

We had the pleasure to work with the following fantastic people and companies at this spectacular event. Please check them out!

A Sampling of “Love Fleurs”

2013 was a crazy year for us gals at In Carnations. It had it’s high’s; one of us tied the knot, one of us became engaged. It’s low’s; one of us added a few more gray hairs to her enlarging collection ( a definite low! ) and everything in between. We met and worked with some truly fantastic people! To all of our 2013 clients we would like to say a BIG “Thank you”! It’s been a pleasure getting to know each and every one of you! We wish you all a life time of happiness, joy and contentment. Here is a sampling of some of the bridal bouquets we created this past year ( blog posts to follow!). To all of our photographer  friends ( professional and amateur) and Brides…… a big “Hug”. Thanks for sharing your images of our work!

Please check out some amazing work!

M and T- Married-Forest Wedding

This bride may seem  a little familiar. Does She? Yes, this is our Meaghan’s wedding day. That Meaghan who you’ve emailed, planned with and a member of our design team- one and the same! After dreaming and designing many of your weddings, it was her turn to wear the white dress.
A forest wedding, with lots of natural elements- elegant, yet rustic was her vision.

Special thanks to Wmac Photography- As always AMAZING, Michaels on Main who prepared a delicious meal and all of the other vendors who we worked along side with.

Here was her and Tye’s big day.DSC_3423 (2)DSC_3433 (2)DSC_3626 (2)1236445_10151841895687346_1073788845_nDSC_3877DSC_0521DSC_2791DSC_2810DSC_2826DSC_3009DSC_3025DSC_3101DSC_3353DSC_3376DSC_3639
